Here is the full list of server rules. Please follow them at all times.
If you see anyone breaking these rules, please send a report to
[email protected]. Attach any evidence (screenshots/videos/demorecs) you may have, which show the player(s) in question doing it, along with the date/time it occurred.
If you fail to follow these rules, you will receive a warning. If you persist after being given 2-3 warnings, you will be kicked from the server. If you still persist after being kicked off 2 times, you will be banned from the server. The length of the ban will be decided based on what rule(s) have been broken.
General RulesEveryone who plays on the server (including Administrators and Sub-Administrators) must follow these rules.
1.
No cheating or bug-abusing of any kind! - This mainly refers to the use of items/weapons in a way which they weren't intended to be (riding your spy drone, firing weapons while using cloak, using 2 weapons at once etc.), but also includes FPS abuse & speed-hacking (to gain faster fire-rate), using the "reconnect", "disconnect", "suicide", and "spectate" commands to avoid death when fighting another player, and skipping sections of co-op maps in order to get an item earlier than you should.
2.
Avoid deliberate spawn-killing - The blue shield will give players enough time to collect weapons and get out of the spawn-area. However, you are not allowed to deliberately kill someone who is just standing at the spawn-point (as the player may be AFK), nor are you allowed to camp at the spawn-point, to get easy kills. Also, avoid firing GEP/LAW rockets and planting/throwing grenades near or into the spawn-area.
3.
Don't spam - This includes "barking", and continuously asking for the AdminLogin. Continuous spamming of the chat, or barks may become annoying for other players on the server, who are trying to enjoy the game. DXMTL will automatically kick anyone who is considered to be "excessively" spamming the chat.
4.
Don't impersonate/insult other players - This is annoying, and is not a very nice thing to do (how would you like it if someone else did this to you?). Also, avoid excessive profanity/swearing for no reason.
5.
On Non-lethal / RPG maps (list here), do not deliberately kill players who have asked not to be killed - On such maps, as the main aim is not just to fight, players can, if they wish, state that they do not want to be killed. This means that you cannot kill them, and they cannot kill anyone else. However, if a player that didn't want to be killed then starts attacking others, they will no longer be exempt from being killed, and they can be killed by anyone again.
Note, that on maps designed for fighting, you cannot be excluded from being killed, if other players are fighting. If you do not wish to be killed on one of these maps, please either spectate, find somewhere to hide, or leave the server.
6.
On Co-op maps (list here), avoid using the Spy Drone augmentation on robots - Unlike in singleplayer, the effect of the drone doesn't wear off at all when used against RedGreasel's multiplayer bots, making the bot useless (it won't fight back at anyone any more), not challenging, and ridiculously easy to destroy.
7.
On Building / Construction maps (list here), do not mess about with the box gun - On these maps, you are free to build anything you wish, using the box gun.
However, please do not use the box gun to:
a) build offensive things (e.g. nazi flags)
b) destroy other players' work
c) block players or corridors / entrances
d) spawn random boxes everywhere
Admin/Sub-Admin RulesAdditionally, Administrators and Sub-Administrators must also follow these rules.
1.
Avoid logging in unless it's necessary - Usually, there is no need to, and also, this should help avoid accusations of cheating (even if you aren't cheating, how do others know that for sure?).
Please do not login if you are fighting, unless it's necessary (in that case, login, carry out the action(s), then logout again before resuming play).
On non-lethal/RPG maps however, as the main aim is not to fight, you can login to summon item(s), but you should still logout if you intend to fight.
2.
Do not summon excessively - Too many items can cause the server/players to lag, and can become annoying (particularly if the items block the player's path through the map)
3.
If items are already available in the map, avoid summoning them - Particularly on fight and co-op maps (
list here), weapons are usually available at the spawn areas, and in pickable cabinets. However, if you do wish to summon a custom weapon, please ask any other players whether they are happy with this first, then make sure that you summon the weapon at every spawn point. This will ensure that all players can obtain the weapon fairly and easily.
4.
Get a majority of agreement from players before changing anything in-game - This will ensure that the majority of the players are happy with what is going on in the server. This mainly applies to map-changing and changing properties of weapons (e.g. HitDamage), but anything which can affect how the player plays should be agreed first.
5.
Don't kick/ban someone just because you don't like them!
